I have rarely, if ever, interacted with such a kind and truly empathic nurse or person.
Just before Christmas my uncle entered the emergency room for pain in the stomach and side. He was taken to the intensive care ward for treatment where nurse Yanet Garay was stationed. My uncle never regained consciousness and died 4-5 days later. During his final days, Yanet was the most compassionate, well-spoken nurse of them all, including the doctors. She stood way above everyone in her ability to calmly and precisely give the family the facts about my uncle’s condition. In the final hour of my uncle’s life, Yanet guided my aunt through what was to be his final chapter. I have rarely, if ever, interacted with such a kind and truly empathic nurse or person. She was stable in the storm. They go to a person for precise and understandable answers and information which the family desperately needs. She is a rare, precious and kind soul, who is forever remembered for her involvement with our family as my uncle passed away.
