When I think of a nurse who has grown tremendously over the past year, Yanitza immediately comes to mind. In the time I have known her, she has consistently demonstrated exceptional clinical skill, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality care. She advocates fiercely for her patients, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met. Her strength in assessment, sound clinical judgment, and timely escalation of care reflect both competence and confidence well beyond her experience level.

In addition to her clinical expertise, she brings a calm, inviting presence to every patient interaction. She has a remarkable ability to create a safe and comforting environment, even in high-acuity and emotionally charged situations. Patients and families feel supported and reassured under her care, and she consistently approaches each situation with empathy, respect, and compassion.

What truly distinguishes her, however, is her dedication to teamwork. She steps up without hesitation to support fellow nurses and collaborate effectively with providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Most recently, she volunteered to co-manage a critically ill ICU patient requiring magnesium sulfate therapy for preeclampsia with severe features and the use of the Jada system for postpartum hemorrhage. Her willingness to take on complex cases speaks volumes about her growth, initiative, and commitment to excellence.
