We had a patient post stent, who couldn't wean off the respirator. The patient was unable to breathe whenever we tried, despite being well enough to do so. After day 2 Miss Yaovanit noticed the patient's eyelid drop. She suspected myasthenia gravis so she notified the neurologist but he didn't think that was the issue. She didn't give up and further notified another physician and the intensivist. One of them finally ordered an EMG and finally, this test confirmed she was right. After this, we were able to treat the patient who made a full recovery and safe discharge.
All of this impressed the physician, patient, and relative so much. Because of her caring and professional nursing knowledge, she observed the change in condition and found the true answer to make the patient safe.
