There is a patient here on our unit who was abandoned by his family. Social work is working on a safe placement for him. He also has a cognitive delay. Music soothes him, however, he does not like the BayCare earbuds previously provided to him. He enjoys music on the GetWell Network, however, he is in an observation room and cannot always play music on TV as it may disturb his roommates at times. Yaritza came in on her day off to bring him Christmas presents which included a CD player, headphones, CDs, an OT ball for hand exercises, and a stuffed animal. The patient was so happy to receive these gifts and not only enjoy his music but also to be remembered for Christmas.
