Where do I even begin to describe how amazing Leti is, as a nurse but even more importantly how amazing she is as a person?
To provide some context, I was admitted into the hospital with acute renal failure spurred by pain medication prescribed/administered to me at a clinic. Amongst those pain meds was ketamine and, with failing kidneys, that combination resulted in strong hallucinations causing me to act erratically and out of character.
Regardless of how out of character, I may have acted and my untoward behavior, Leti never stopped treating me with compassion and kindness. Those attributes may seem implicit in the nursing field, but the compassion Leti showed me is just part of her qualifications for being an outstanding nurse. That compassionate patient care is not taught or developed over time; one is either a kind person with sincere dedication to helping others or not, and I can honestly say Leti is!!!
