I don't know when she took the time to write a motivational note, but I am FOREVER grateful that she did. That note is still in my car.
I brought my youngest child to the ER at CHKD. Upon arrival, there was no parking until the 7th floor of the parking garage. Upon arrival, I noticed a nurse who had just parked, and I inquired with her about how to get to the nearest elevator. At the time, I was carrying my one-year-old in his infant seat. Ms. Lopez informed me that I would have to take two flights of stairs down before an elevator would be available. I should also mention that I had my 10-year-old with me as well, so I had a lot going on. Ms. Lopez volunteered to carry my infant car seat down both sets of stairs while I carried my diaper bag and kept track of my 10-year-old. She then escorted me to the entrance of the ER to make sure I was in the right location. After my visit to the ER, I came back to my car where I found a note on the door. At first, I thought I must have gotten a ticket due to where I was parked. However, Ms. Lopez left me a motivational note about how I was an amazing mother: for taking care of myself (I was just getting over being sick) and taking care of two younger ones who were also sick. I have never had anyone in any situation take the time to help me the way Ms. Lopez did for me that day. I don't know when she took the time to write a motivational note, but I am FOREVER grateful that she did. That note is still in my car. When I am having a hard day, it is something that I can reflect on. If anyone is deserving of such an award, Ms. Lopez is for sure! I should mention that she did all this with a smile on her face and no hesitation to help a mother in need. Thank you, Ms. Lopez!
