I feel I was treated with the utmost respect by a caring person who always put a smile on my face with their infectious smile and wonderful, positive, caring attitude.
Although my stay was short,  the reason I was in the hospital was terrifying for me, but this nurse made sure I felt safe and comfortable from the first few seconds we met after the shift started. This nurse immediately inquired if I was okay, needed anything at that moment, and explained they would return with additional questions after checking on her other patients.  At this point, I was starting to get some memory back after "losing" most of the prior afternoon/evening and was still frightened and confused.  This nurse returned shortly and wanted to know if I knew why I was there, what I remembered, and a brief summary of my medical history. This nurse was very calming, comforting, and professional and listened.  The nurse took time out of their busy schedule to detail the importance of proper uninterrupted sleep, high blood pressure, proper cholesterol levels, and what happens to your brain and heart when these are ignored. This nurse took the time to make sure I understood everything they shared with me, and as my memory became stronger, they would repeat what they said always with a smile and comforting voice.  When the 'doctor on the computer' diagnosed me with "Transient Global Amnesia," the nurse stayed by my bedside and made sure I understood what the doctor was saying and that all my questions were answered by the doctor.  I have a bad back and cannot lay flat without extreme pain.  Before I went for the EEG and MRI, the nurse prepped me with what to ask/tell the technicians so I'd be more comfortable.  After the MRI, I was in tears from back pain caused by laying flat and still ...the nurse followed the transport staff into my room to offer their kind words, comfort, and help.  Before I was discharged, the nurse explained FAST until I remembered it and could explain it to them.  They made me promise to see the pulmonologist, explore different C-pap treatments, and follow up with a neurologist. I feel I was treated with the utmost respect by a caring person who always put a smile on my face with their infectious smile and wonderful, positive, caring attitude.  I feel blessed that such caring person was my nurse.

This nurse was so sweet and took very good care of him even when he started being challenging and refusing to get blood drawn. So, with that being said, I felt comfortable leaving C, so this nurse really deserves an award.

This nurse was phenomenal, made me feel safe, brought me drinks, warm blankets, and brought me back to life since I've been here.
