Yelena took time to talk, provide bedside care, even fluff pillows for patients. Yelena has been working in ER for the past few months and she shows compassion to all patients and radiates the essence of "patience" in every sense of the word. While other nurses are giving medications, performing procedures, Yelena takes time to really communicate and become personal with her patients. One specific incident was when a patient was unhappy with the speed of care being received that day. Yelena walked over to this patient and calmly empathized with the patient. Even though the patient was rude and condescending, she kept her composure, "always smiling"! The patient quickly calmed down and became cooperative. A nurse with this much compassion, empathy, and patience to always smile in all situations deserves a DAISY Award!

She goes with a smile, very thorough in everything she does, very attentive. Another word that comes to mind is consistent and caring. She makes the family feel a peace of mind that our loved one is truly being taken care of. Very personable and down to patient's level. God Bless all the staff for they are all good.
