Yeslie Dalton, RN

We would love to recognize Yeslie! She was just coming in over shift change, and she jumped right in, introducing herself not only to my daughter but to me as well. She did everything with a smile. My daughter had to do a bedside procedure, and Yeslie talked to me, making sure I was ok as well as taking care of my daughter. When I needed to step out, I knew she was in great care with her. She stayed with me until my daughter woke up from the sedation. She talked me through every important part of her care, answered all my questions, and was so genuine and caring. When I had concerns, she came in and helped talk me through why things were beeping and helped my daughter wake up from the sedation.

When my daughter woke up, Yeslie went over what we needed to do to go home in a way my daughter would understand. She then took my daughter for a walk; along the way, we stopped for snacks and drinks, and of course this made my daughter super happy! At discharge, she reviewed all the important things I needed to look for and whom to contact with any questions. She then helped us to our car at 3:00 in the morning, and she did it all with a smile. I can never begin to thank her enough for not only taking care of my daughter the way she did but also for me as a mom who was absolutely terrified. She calmed me down multiple times and gave me so much reassurance. My daughter is 8 and also mentioned how kind and caring she is! She even asked to come back just to visit Yeslie! OSF has a true gem in the Pediatric ED! She truly lives the mission and cares so much for her patients! Thank you so much, Yeslie, for all you do; you are making such a huge difference in your patients' lives!
