I worked in healthcare most of my life, so I have seen a lot, and it takes a lot to impress me. My nurse, Yia, impressed me with her above-average care. One word to describe her is "amazing!" She was right there with me as I was coming out of surgery, providing that comfort when you are in a vulnerable position. She does her job efficiently and without causing any pain. I was worried about moving my knee too much after surgery. Yia demonstrated her knowledge and experience in helping me move in a way that was reassuring, with care to do things in a manner that would prevent further discomfort. She even took the time to rewrap my knee to make it more comfortable. If she had any frustrations with me, she didn't let it show. Every time she entered my room, she had a pleasant attitude. Yia did the little things to go the extra mile, like making my bed when I wasn't in it, so that it was nice to get back into. If she didn't know the answer to my question, she would go find out. Sowing her resourcefulness. My whole experience at OakLeaf has been so nice. I wish all patients could experience having a nurse like Yia.
