Yolanda Clemons, Multidisciplinary Clinic Leader, Finance and Administration, Children’s at Hughes Spalding
Yolanda Clemons meets every challenge with ample skill. Her dedication to making sure things run smoothly in the primary care clinics has garnered the admiration of the Children’s at Hughes Spalding leadership team as well as the clinical staff and the providers. She has also helped improve communication between nurses and physicians in the clinic. As a Magnet ambassador, Yolanda also spends time communicating Magnet concepts to her fellow nurses. Beyond that, she takes the time to show her co-workers how to provide exceptional care. In one instance, a provider stated that a patient needed immunizations and education for home care before being dismissed. Instead of having the patient continue to wait for the provider, Yolanda read the order and prepared the medication. She then gave the injection herself so that the patient could go home. She quietly explained, “That’s how we can get the patient home quicker so we can get ready for the next one!” Yolanda possesses a caring and nurturing demeanor with patient care as well as care of the clinical staff. She is setting the bar for the delivery of high quality nursing care in the clinics.
