Mrs. O’Quine is very familiar with the patients on Team Red as well as the policies and procedures of the VA Medical Center. Her knowledge and dedication have been an asset to the Veterans as well as the newest members of Team Red.
Mrs. Yolanda O’Quine is to be recognized and commended for her service to the Veterans in Primary Care and for her dedication to PACT Team Red. Mrs. O’Quine has worked as an LPN at the VA Medical Center in Pineville, Louisiana for over twenty years. Over seventeen of these years have been in Primary Care on Team Red. During the last four years, Team Red has been through many changes. Mrs. O’Quine has been very instrumental in leading the team through these changes. Mrs. O’Quine worked on the Team for over a year without an RN Care Manager. Once an RN Care manager was hired, Mrs. O’Quine assisted with orienting her to the role of Care Manager by sharing her knowledge of the Veterans on Team Red as well as standard operating procedures and the roles of all PACT Team members. Team Red was without a provider for over nineteen months. During this time, Mrs. O’Quine worked diligently with surrogate providers to ensure the needs of the Veterans were met. Also, during this time, Mrs. O’Quine would “float” to other primary care teams to assist where needed. When reassigned, Mrs. O’Quine would go quietly, and without reservation, to the team she was assigned for the day to do whatever tasks were necessary to meet the needs of the Veterans she was assigned to serve that day. Since the new Provider for Team Red has been in place, Mrs. O’Quine has gone “above and beyond” to ensure the needs of the Veterans on our team have been met while assisting the new Provider with transitioning to her new role. Mrs. O’Quine is very familiar with the patients on Team Red as well as the policies and procedures of the VA Medical Center. Her knowledge and dedication have been an asset to the Veterans as well as the newest members of Team Red. Mrs. O’Quine is a DAISY Nurse for her hard work and dedication to the Veterans and team members of Team Red. She serves as an advocate for the Veterans every day. She is to be commended, not for any one thing that she has done on any one day, but for all the things she does every day, especially the days of the last four years.
