Yolanda greeted my mother as soon as her shift began and spoke directly to her despite my mom's age. She made my mother feel important and capable of taking part in her care plan. Even though my mom was in a lot of pain, Yolanda was very friendly and always seemed to find a way to put a smile on mom's face. They would joke with each other which really kept my mom's spirit up. When my mom would hit her nurse call button, Yolanda was there promptly, with a smile, and never made my mother feel like she was a bother. Yolanda helped my mother keep her privacy and dignity when using the bathroom or performing self-care. Yolanda helped make a stressful situation more manageable and kept my mom and family smiling.
