Yolanda is someone whom all students know at our school. Her positive energy and compassion attract students and staff to be in her company. I instruct students with low-incidence disabilities who have multiple health complications. Yolanda does an amazing job caring for our students with IEPs. She explains step by step to students how she will care for them before doing so and encourages students to take more independence in caring for themselves when possible. She uses visuals and accommodates students' needs to ensure they understand particular procedures and how to best care for themselves. She is an advocate for our students.

Despite caring for students who are ill or have other medical needs, she makes sure to check in on how they are doing mentally. She truly knows students, such as their likes/dislikes, and has positive relationships that are built with trust and compassion. She is passionate about all students caring for their health as independently as possible. Hancock loves Nurse Yolanda.
