Jordan displayed immense professionalism while also acting with compassion and empathy for our situation.
My mom was a patient at Stanford ValleyCare in Pleasanton last weekend, and I would like to recognize the exceptional nursing care provided by Jordan. The scare of going to the hospital and the stress of being admitted, along with actually receiving medical care, can be quite taxing; not to mention the uncertainty of the medical matter itself. That said, Jordan displayed immense professionalism while also acting with compassion and empathy for our situation. She went above and beyond the minimum requirements to deliver outstanding care and support for my mom.

Jordan was there to explain everything that was happening in my mom's care. She took the time to ask me about my mom's daily routines, so she could better know my mom and how to care for her. Her patience with my questions about my mom's medications was exemplary; she would even offer to follow up with the doctors if I felt it was necessary. She went above and beyond to ask me questions and make sure I was able to give any and all input I had. She recognized and respected that, as my mom's caregiver, I knew the best way to care for her, and she took advantage of that fact by always taking my input into account.

As my mom's night nurse, Jordan put my mom's health first and deviated from the standard nursing practice of interrupting the patient's sleep to do standard check-ins. She was agile enough to work around my mom's sleep patterns so that her overall health wasn't negatively impacted by the "to-do's" on her checklist. Without shirking any responsibility, she was able to understand that a good night's rest was needed, and she did everything she could to allow that to happen while making sure all the necessary tasks were done. Both my mom and I feel quite fortunate to have had Jordan caring for Mom. I know that healthcare professionals can sometimes be too busy to stop and consider the patient as a person. Jordan was not one of these nurses. I have immense respect for her and am forever thankful for her care.
