I have had the pleasure of working with Yovonda for years. She is truly one of the most compassionate RNs I have ever met. She had a patient whom she had taken care of several times before. She noticed the patient taking several items from the bathroom and putting them in her bag. After talking with the patient, Yovonda learned that the patient's husband was newly unemployed and they couldn't afford toilet paper or depends. Later that day Yovonda bought this patient a Fred Meyer gift card and sent it to her anonymously.
This was not the first time Yovonda has gone above and beyond in caring for their patients. Yovonda is the nurse I hope to become one day. She volunteers to precept nursing students and new hires. She volunteers to teach classes. Yovonda is the nurse you turn to if you have questions. She really is an amazing nurse.
