Yuda's knowledge, care, compassion, understanding, and concern for my mom were exemplary.
My Mom was admitted Thursday evening due to a 6mm kidney stone. We met with the Urological Surgeon and the team who recommended surgery. After discussing with Internal Medicine, mom was undecided about the procedure and did not understand the risks. By Saturday morning her white blood cell count was trending up and creatinine level was way up and yet she still hoped to pass the stone on her own.

Yuda Davydov was assigned to my mom's room on Saturday and from the minute he came into the room, he asked what he could do to help my mom to make a decision about her plan of care. Yuda went above and beyond to read all the notes from my mom's admission and realize that we needed someone to intervene - to really explain and provide answers regarding the risk of trying to allow this stone to pass on its own. He patiently and tirelessly answered each question that we had. He assembled the Urology team plus the surgeon in her room to answer all of our questions (we had a list!).

Until this time, my mom was at an impasse as to scheduling this surgery and unequivocally did not understand the risk of not doing this procedure. Yuda had great intuition and brought the patient and doctors together to answer all unresolved questions and move my mom's care along. After all of the risks were explained, my mom consented to the procedure which was scheduled promptly and occurred within hours of making the decision.

The care that Yuda showed to my Mom before and after the surgery was well beyond anything that we have ever experienced at Mayo Clinic and my mom has had many admissions and surgeries at Mayo Clinic Phoenix in the past. Yuda is also a great educator; we were well informed about anything we inquired about, and anything related to my mom's care in general. I don't honestly know how this story would have ended had he not handled it in the manner that he did.

My mom received the answers that she needed to make the decision. I could only hope that he would be assigned to my mom each and every time my mom is at Mayo. Yuda's knowledge, care, compassion, understanding, and concern for my mom were exemplary. My words truly cannot express how much we appreciated Yuda and how much my mom benefitted from his care during this admission. Yuda is truly an asset to Mayo Clinic.
