I was admitted to PCU for multiple systemic infections leading to sepsis. I will never forget, it was 1940, not but 10 minutes from getting on shift, Yuko Miller heard me cough and ran in saying, ‘Wow, you are really coughing very badly, that must really hurt. We need to help with that,” and she continued to attend to me through the entire shift with attention to detail, precision, and effort. At night, when I had a headache, she tried to adjust my medications to allow me to rest. She would tell others to turn hallway lights down at night, and she respected the privacy and comfort of everyone in the unit. She even tried to wash my breast pump parts. Absolutely loved Yuko’s passion for wanting to help others, and she is the epitome of nursing! Thank you!
