Yulianie Rivera Perez, RN

Yulianie did an exceptional job advocating for a patient in CDU. This patient arrived with abdominal pain from the ED. As Yulianie cared for this patient, she was concerned as the patient continued to complain of 10/10 abdominal pain.

Yulianie contacted the provider and requested a CT scan as she noted one had not been completed in the ED. An hour passed by, and the Yulianie reached out to the surgical PA to request that the provider come to the bedside. A CT was then ordered. Following the CT, the patient was seen by the surgical PA and shortly taken to the OR for an emergent, extensive abdominal surgery. The patient then required CCU.

Thanks to Yulianie’s persistence and great assessment skills, this patient received the care they needed. Yulianie is an exceptional nurse who always goes above and beyond for her patients. She listens to her patients and advocates for them.
