Ying always goes above and beyond for our endocrine oncology patients. Her bedside manner and work ethic are outstanding! There isn't just one example: it's every patient, every day. Being a cancer patient can be overwhelming: so many doctors, appointments, instructions, meds, imaging, etc. Ying has the outstanding compassion and empathy to help every patient navigate the system and get their questions answered, no matter how long it takes.

Recently I had a patient who needed a thyroid ultrasound and biopsy; the patient is wheelchair-bound and needed a certain lift to transfer (Hoyer lift). Whereas outside institutions left her upright in her chair for these studies, Ying called radiology and coordinated the biopsy to only be done at locations with a Hoyer lift, allowing this patient equitable access to care that she absolutely deserves. I have no idea how long it took Ying to find these locations or how many calls she had to make; she just recognized the problem and took care of it.

Ying is an outstanding team member and champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion for our Endocrine Oncology patients. I wholeheartedly believe she deserves the DAISY Award.
