Yvette M Roy, RN
Ms. Yvette Roy has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, compassion, and professionalism while working under extremely challenging circumstances in the Pediatric Clinic.
For the past three months, she has been operating as the sole nurse assisting seven providers and five technicians. Despite carrying a heavy workload, including direct patient care, managing provider schedules and templates, answering message pools, scrubbing charts, and triaging patients, she has not skipped a beat.
She continues to go above and beyond for both patients and staff, ensuring that care remains timely, organized, and patient-centered. In the spring, we had a 16-month-old patient who came in for fever, cough, and congestion, and the baby came into the clinic with a heart rate above 200. After obtaining an ECG, we verified Supraventricular Tachycardia.
Ms. Roy tended to the patient’s comfort, passed medications, reassessed the patient’s status while also comforting the mother, and coordinated transfer to a higher level of care. This is just one of the daily examples of Yvette's talent. Her ability to remain calm, dependable, and compassionate while balancing so many responsibilities is truly remarkable.
Ms. Roy’s hard work has had a direct impact on the clinic's ability to function smoothly and provide safe and quality care. She is an outstanding example of what it means to be a dedicated nurse and is a fantastic candidate for a DAISY Award.
