Yvonne Black-Russell, RN
Yvonne exemplifies the CARE (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Expertise) Values at Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital. She is very compassionate, caring, and is detail-oriented. I recalled when I first transferred from the medical site to behavioral health, Yvonne supported me a great deal during the transition period. She is very knowledgeable and is willing to share her expertise. She is also a compassionate nurse.
I recall on one particular occasion, as we were working on the children's unit, she called her husband and asked him to go to the store to buy snacks for the entire children's unit just to make them happy. Her generosity extends to the adult patients as well and provides them with much-needed items just to make their days. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and never complains about assisting others. Regardless of the request and its frequency, she was always willing to assist without hesitation or complaints. She always asks, "Is there anything you need?" Yvonne goes above and beyond to provide the best possible experience for her patient, works well with the patient's entire team to meet the patient's needs, and makes them comfortable.
