I was referred to urology in around 2015, and was extremely anxious as I was young and experiencing urinary retention and other distressing symptoms. When I met Yvonne, she put me at ease straight away and was not judgmental at all. 

I had awful experiences at other places, which really scared me about asking for help from anyone. She suggested that I get a sacral nerve stimulator, and even attended to me after the surgery to make me feel calmer and talk me through how to use the machine. 

Over the years, she has monitored me and her impact on my life is hard to put into words. She has laughed with me, comforted me when I cried and always got back to me with any questions I have for her. She is compassionate, and she doesn’t realize the impact that she has had on my life. I now have no symptoms of retention and live a completely different life from what I did. I was so desperate and depressed when I started the journey to getting help, and now I’m looking forward to it every day.
