It was Zach's quick intervention and knowing me so well that he saved my life.
I was in the ICU for 5 weeks. I had an incredibly complicated hospital stay. All my care provided at the ICU was stellar. Without the wonderful care, I wouldn't have been able to make it home to my family. Everyone was rooting for me to get home as I wished, and I can't say enough about the staff, but one nurse went above and beyond, and that was Zach. I was fortunate enough to have him care for me many times.
One morning he came in early and before he began his shift, he came to check on me as he had the previous day. It was his quick intervention and knowing me so well that he saved my life. He is extremely compassionate and has excellent assessment skills. During this difficult time of COVID-19, I could not have my family with me but when he was caring for me, I felt like I did have family there because he was so attentive and was an advocate for my care. Just knowing Zach was my nurse put me at ease during a difficult time because I knew how much he wanted me to get better. He was invested and he relayed that in the care he provided. He was always available to my family and took the time to make sure they were constantly updated. Zach is an excellent nurse who represents what LGH should be proud of.
