Zach is a top representative of our core values here at Mount Carmel. He serves multiple roles throughout the system; he is a system flex choice critical care nurse and rapid response. Zach is a treasured member of our facility. There are many examples I could give that would make Zach a DAISY Nurse. The example that stands out the most is a day Zach was working in the ICU. One of the patients Zach was caring for came in with a devastating story and we would later find out a sad outcome. The family, although educated throughout the patient's stay, would at times be challenging when it came to the care of their loved one. It is this day that Zach exemplified our core values. He was a faithful servant in our mission while caring for this young man. Zach utilized his team and resources within the department to initiate life-saving measures for this patient during his 12-hour shift. He took the time to sit with the family to include and educate them on every planned intervention. Zach is one of the most compassionate, courteous, knowledgeable individuals I know.
