Zach is amazing; he was caring for a patient with a sudden drop in hemoglobin, and he got GI re-involved. When told the procedure may not have been able to get done, he expressed concern and advocated for this patient to get in. He also remained in the room with his patient while the blood was infused to make sure the patient kept his arm straight so the blood could finish on time. His prompt actions got the patient to EGD where a massive bleed was found that required ICU and could have been fatal. Zach literally saved this man’s life. He works overtime, he helps his team, and always comes in with a good attitude and some jokes.

I had facial surgery; pain management and nutrition became the main concern as my mouth is wired together and I do not tolerate narcotic pain medications. Zach made this situation his goal to find a solution that would allow me to go home, be able to manage my pain, and receive proper nutrition. He gave me excellent care, was on time with my treatment schedule, and even found a minute to check on me after I moved to a different room. Zach’s ability to think outside the box, identify the problem, and research solutions gave me the confidence to be able to go home and know I would be okay.
