Zachary Meiss, RN, from the Emergency Department at MAH, was recently recognized as one of our DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses honorees!

I came to the ER feeling absolutely miserable with bronchitis, and Zach was the nurse who took care of me. From the moment he walked in, he was incredibly kind, compassionate, and attentive. He made sure I was comfortable, bringing me warm blankets and even apple juice, small gestures that made a big difference when I felt so unwell. What stood out the most was how clearly and patiently he explained what to expect during my recovery. He took the time to answer all my questions and gave me practical advice on how to feel better faster. It wasn't just about treating the illness; he genuinely cared about how I was doing and how I would continue to heal at home. When my husband and I left the ER, we both said the same thing: He was so nice. Zach truly went above and beyond and was so grateful for the care he provided during a really difficult moment.
