Zach was so gracious and compassionate.
My P is with Jesus now! She passed over at about 4:45 this morning. Zach, her ICU nurse, called me at 1:21 am to suggest I come to the hospital because, though P was on maximum life support, her oxygen SAT was steadily dropping. I was allowed to suit up and be with P in her last hours.
After I had been there a couple of hours, it was evident that the machines were keeping her breathing, and the Levo and Vasopressin were keeping her blood pressure, yet her life was slipping away. Though I had prayed to be spared having to make a decision, I had to do so. Zach told me when they take her off the vent and medicine, she'll pass away within minutes, and so she did. I was able to hold her hand and stroke her forehead as she entered the arms of Jesus. It was the most difficult yet most precious experience. The Lord knew what was best for P, and I also know.
As we awaited her passing, I was able to tell Zach a little about this amazing woman for whom he had been caring. Zach was so gracious and compassionate, I know God chose him to be the one of so many ICU nurses to witness her home going with me. Please pray for him!
Thank you for your love and support as you walked with P and me through this journey. I am terribly sad, yet I have great joy knowing P is whole again and that she is with Jesus...she'll no longer suffer the debilitation of her rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes. She'll never have to stick herself again with an insulin syringe. P is free of pain and heartache.
