The amount of professionalism combined with the sincere compassion that this young man displayed with my family was simply amazing.
My father-in-law was an ICU patient on a vent for three days. Zac was his nurse for two of those days. We had to make the decision to turn the vent off. Aside from always explaining everything he did to take care of him, from adjusting a machine, adding blankets, medications, etc. Zac also went above and beyond to answer all questions, give updates, and just have conversations with us and listen to funny stories about my father-in-law. He made us feel as much at ease with the difficult decision that had to be made as much as one possibly could. The amount of professionalism combined with the sincere compassion that this young man displayed with my family was simply amazing. We may never encounter or see this young man again, but we will always remember and appreciate him. Very rarely do we meet or encounter someone who will leave a positive, lasting impression on us, but Zac has done that with us. We will be forever grateful for him. Zac is doing the job he was meant to do. I’ve had two children, a few surgeries, two elderly parents with cancer, and heart and lung issues. In all those experiences with staff and nurses, Zac was by far the best I’ve ever encountered. I hope he gets the praise and recognition he deserves. I’m so grateful that while making the decisions my husband and brother-in-law had to make, they had someone like Zac to lean on and talk to.
