Zachary Uphold, RN

A wheelchair-bound Veteran provided a handwritten letter about the care Zachary Uphold provided during a stay on the inpatient unit. He stated that he has been more than satisfied. He described Zachary as "so different than all the rest". The Veteran stated that Zachary is not hesitant to get involved to help Veterans through a mini-crisis. The Veteran stated that Zachary will crouch down at the level of the veteran to see them eye to eye. The veteran stated that patients love being listened to. The Veteran continued to state that Zachary makes him feel like the most important person of the day. He follows through on each question asked and communicates the results of the request. Zachary speaks positively to questions asked offering real assurance to the Veteran. Many staff are asked but they do not want to get involved like Zachary. Zachary smiles all the time and it is so refreshing to see his smile in the hospital setting. The Veteran states that Zachary Uphold is the best nurse he has ever seen and would like to see him get recognition.
