Zakiya A Abdullah, Student Nurse

Zakiya is always positive and upbeat. When interacting with patients they are compassionate and they make patients feel cared for while being in a vulnerable position. They ensure that patients are safe and at the same time, they make a connection with them. They never demonstrated frustration or impatience. They would explain what she was doing and what the patient should expect, basically, they included them in their plan of care. As well as compassionate care they are very intelligent and comprehend their role as a student nurse and future role as an RN. Our patient population needs nurses like them. They will be an amazing nurse once they graduate and is in their future role as an RN!
