Zane C Miller, RN, BSN, CCRN

I would like to nominate Zane for the DAISY Award. I had Zane for several shifts, and his care made a real difference in my recovery. He took the time to walk with me several times for somewhat long distances while I was regaining my strength. He made a special point of it because I was a “pacemaker hostage”. I think he saw how frustrated I was to be in that position. On several occasions, he went to the cafeteria to get food for me because I had missed a meal or was still hungry. On two specific occasions, he even went to meet an Uber driver in the lobby for some food that I ordered. Zane’s kindness, initiative, and personal attention truly went above and beyond, and I can honestly say that having him as one of my nurses at Barnes-Jewish Hospital made my time there more enjoyable.
