Zekia Beshir, RN

I have noticed that VMC has many nurses with a high amount of compassion. It would be hard to choose someone if that were the only criteria. However, every once in a while you get a nurse who goes above and beyond. One who thinks of you, your needs, and tries to put herself in your shoes. This has been my experience with Zekia. As you can tell, my fine motor skills are non-existent. I have severe nerve damage. It is hard for me to hold things and move at times. She picked up on these things and put herself in my shoes. She put pills in my hand so I didn’t have to tip the cup. She held my hand and helped me calm my breathing. She made sure my hot food was delivered in a prompt manner. But most of all, she was so kind and helpful. She helped distract me so I wasn’t concentrating on pain and procedures. She was all-around amazing and wonderful and helped me smile when that was the hardest thing to do at the time. Thank you, Zekia!
