Late Saturday night, we had to bring our son into the ER for a fever spike. Once we were told he was being admitted, our son was again scared and didn't want to stay. Zelie and another nurse met us in the hallway and immediately started to comfort W. She reminded him of who she was and tried to get him whatever he needed, especially because it was late and he was extra tired. She noticed his bandage on his port site was tented and preferred to change it to make sure it was safe for him. She worked quickly to change it for him so he could go back to sleep. She also went above for my husband and me.

When she was informed that we were here and going to be admitted, she started asking around for extra beds because she figured both my husband and I would be here and would be spending the night. She made sure to find us something so that we could both sleep and stay with our son. In a time of worry for our son, she provided care to help us settle in and do what she could to help us.
