Zenaida was a breath of fresh air during my four-night stay at the TCH Pavilion for Women. I ended up needing a C-section to deliver my son. It was my greatest fear coming true. I had never had a hospital stay or surgery, so I was petrified of the whole process. Thankfully, we both came out the other side happy and healthy. Much of that is due to the extraordinary care I received from Zenaida for two days of my stay. She was my day nurse two days in a row, and those were probably the hardest two days recovery-wise. She was amazingly sweet, bubbly, and caring. She took extra care to do things like using orange pads to remove the adhesive on my IV line, took extra time to show me how to keep my sleepy breastfeeding baby awake enough to eat, and she seemed to just know when we needed her help or needed our space. She was so gentle and sweet with her delivery of care, tips, and directions. She understood I was a first-time mom and she made me feel as though I was being cared for by an older sister. She helped me remember to take care of myself too, by suggesting showers, wearing my own clothes, and reminding me to order my meals when some of those things were the last things on my mind. She knows those are the things that help moms feel better, faster. Words really do not do her justice. She really has the best attitude, sweetest demeanor, and overall greatest nursing ability I have witnessed. Zenaida's nursing touch got me back to feeling mostly like myself again after delivering my son where the delivery went in every way the opposite of how I had planned and expected. For that, I will be forever grateful!
