D, the son of a hospice patient, brought Zoey a gift to the floor.

He told me he was bringing Zoey a special present because she was amazing. 

Zoey came to sit with the patient when she was off work. The day the patient passed away, Zoey was with him. She was off that day. Zoey turned him, fluffed his pillow, and was there for his last breath. 

D was telling me this with tears in his eyes. I could tell how much Zoey touched this family. I took the present and assured him Zoey would get it. He only asked that she call him.

The next time I saw Zoey, she showed me the gift. It was a ceramic angel from the patient’s home. They wanted Zoey to have something of his.

Zoey did not know this family or the patient. She spent time with the patient after her shifts and came in to see him on her day off. 

She is truly amazing!
