They helped my wife get off the ventilator, helped her walk, helped her emotionally deal with our baby being in a different part of the hospital.
My wife was 36 weeks pregnant. We went to the emergency room at UNC Nash because she could not breathe. We were admitted and it was determined she has severe pre-eclampsia. Her blood pressure was through the roof and she had fluid on her lungs and extreme swelling. My wife was immediately taken into surgery to deliver our child. She had an emergency C-section. She was intubated and put on a ventilator. After the C-section, she was moved to the Cardiac ICU at UNC Nash with pericardial Myopathy and still dangerously high blood pressure. The two nurses in particular that I want to recognize are Zolly Corprew and Alexis Lucas. Zolly was the day nurse and Alexis was the night nurse. Both of these women were extraordinary and are deserving of any and all awards they can get. They helped my wife get off the ventilator, helped her walk, helped her emotionally deal with our baby being in a different part of the hospital. Zolly helped my wife with starting to pump breast milk. I truly cannot speak more highly about these two individuals. My wife and I are forever grateful for the role they played in helping her get better.
