Laryssa is a luminary in her field as she is extremely clinically professional, while also having a huge heart for excellent patient care and service. Last year I had a mastectomy at St. Joseph's Hospital and Laryssa was one my nurses during my stay. Now, months later, she recognized me immediately, which I find to be amazing as she sees so many patients each day. Her recognition and extreme kindness made me feel like I was in the care of a friend, someone who knew me! She easily and thoroughly answered all my questions relating to my disease state as well as the treatment I am receiving. She stressed the importance of compliance in taking my medications, helping me to place value in doing my part as regards my health and wellness.
Laryssa didn't hesitate to go the extra mile to make sure I received a dinner tray as my arrival to my room was later than expected. She also contacted the maintenance department immediately when it was discovered that my room phone didn't work - no procrastination or passing the responsibility to someone else. She provides this kind of service with a cheery heart and caring attitude. She provides a safe, sympathetic nursing care environment for patients while maintaining a professional yet personable relationship with co-workers and patients alike. Laryssa is the face and voice of St. Joseph's Hospital, being a highly skilled, responsible, efficient, enthusiastic, and kind-hearted nurse. St. Joseph's is blessed to have her on board.
