Carrie Haass went above and beyond her job when she was the nurse for my daughter. During the admission process, Carrie quickly noticed how anxious all of us were and truly took the time to step away from her charting and give my daughter her full attention. She not only made us feel like her number one priority but explained in such detail the provider's orders and the nursing process we would experience throughout my daughter's stay. As more family members arrived, Carrie again explained the situation and assured us that my daughter was in great hands with the healthcare team, all while tending to my daughter's physical needs. My daughter's children were not able to come to town immediately but had many questions and concerns, as they had unexpectedly lost their father due to health complications a few years ago. Learning this, Carrie gave the kids her direct line in case they had any concerns throughout the night. Having such a caring nurse as Carrie was truly a blessing.
The following night, Carrie was assigned to my daughter again and she was just as attentive as the first night. When my granddaughter arrived to stay with her mom, Carrie was great at explaining the events of the past two days and providing care that was family centered. It was so nice to have an experience with a nurse that has stayed true to the vision of nursing during such change in the health care world. Carrie is a true asset to your facility and the profession of nursing.
