Shelly sincerely took her mission to make me more informed about atrial flutter and the procedure I had done. She printed off information for me and explained and answered all my questions. She calmed me down and educated me. Since I came directly from the doctor's office, at his insistence. I was not at all certain what was going on and probably somewhat in shock. Although Shelly had many other patients and was extremely busy she kept her word and took a walk with me. (A goal was set together). Everything that she told me in a calm voice soothed me and helped me understand what to expect. Shelly also was attentive in my recovery even while being interrupted numerous times. She also knew when to let me sleep. OSF St. Mary's Hospital is fortunate to have such an outstanding empathetic nurse in Shelly, who is professional, collaborates, is caring, and sincere in being a good steward of God's love to all. Her assessment of my situation and decision making skills far exceeded my expectations of a nurse.
