My wife and I are new to Wesley and due to pregnancy complications, our local physician recommended we deliver at Wesley Medical Center. Jocelyn took care of us prior to delivery of our baby and also post delivery for a couple of hours. I work at another facility and we have been through the labor process 4 other times. The expertise she demonstrated and the kindness she displayed was truly amazing. She continually stated and portrayed that whatever our wishes were, she would do. My mom was a night OB nurse for 35 years and I have assisted with hundreds of deliveries of animals on our farm operation. Jocelyn blew us away with her LDR knowledge and her suggestions of what we could try if we wanted to so we would have a successful delivery.
She demonstrated caring for others as portrayed by her effort during the LDR and recovery process. A person can tell what would be "the easy road" to take and what road requires great effort. She took the road that required the extra effort, but she so willingly took that road in hopes of getting us the goal we were hoping for. At no time, did she try to convenience us to take a route that we did not wish to pursue, and she treated us just like family.
If we return to Wesley to have another child, I know that if I could request a nurse it would be her. She displays the ICARE values in all her actions and is truly a nurse that you could put up on a billboard and say "this is what we want Wesley to be"!
