Caring and compassionate are two of the most wonderful qualities any person can possess. Those characteristics certainly define your DAISY Award Honoree, Tracy Crevier.
I have known Tracy for only a few months, but have been incredibly impressed with her. I first met Tracy when my father was admitted into Community Living Center. My father, a WWII veteran, has been dealing with Dementia/Alzheimer's for the last few years. Within days of my dad becoming a resident, I knew that Tracy had a special gift. I have seen her ability to sincerely care for my father, as well as her other patients.
Tracy has been very open, honest, and patient with me in explaining my father's medical situation and answering any questions I have had. I have also watched her many times interact with my father, as well as the other patients, and each time she has displayed caring and compassion. I realize her job involves many challenges, yet she seems to meet those challenges with strength, wisdom, and compassion.
Due to my family circumstances involving not just my father's health but also my mother and father-in-law, I have had the opportunity to talk to and watch many caregivers over the last four or five years. The vast majority of those people have amazed me with their ability to do a job that can be very difficult and strenuous, but none more so than Tracy.
I have great respect for Tracy's service to our country. I know that she is a veteran who served tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan in a medical capacity. I can only imagine how incredibly helpful she was to those who were fighting for our freedom that we hold so dear.
I want to give heartfelt thanks to the VA and to Tracy for a job well done!
