... Sue came in for an ordinary day of work. This was no ordinary day for my family and me. This was the day my father would pass away and Sue will forever be in our memories for all that she did. It was a day of work for her but she made it her personal mission to give all the support and comfort she could.
Sue put my father and family at peace during the worst day of our lives. She is a very special person. She is kind, caring and compassionate beyond compare. She treated my father with dignity and respect. She listened to family and was there for us every step of the way. Sue had 20 members of our family in and out of the room and she respected our privacy and answered our questions. It takes a very special person to be a nurse and she exceeded all expectations.
Sue's warm gentle smile, calm demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile was reassuring to us that everything was going to be as ok as it could be in this situation. She kept my dad comfortable, she respected our grief, she kept my mom comfortable with her kindness.
Sue is a wonderful asset to your hospital. It gives me great comfort to know how well she cared for my dad in his final hours. She touched our lives and our hearts. Our family will never forget her and all she did for us on that long day.
