I came into the unit frightened. I did not want to be here. I wanted to leave in the worst way for my own selfish reasons. Roberta was able to get me to stay and calm me down. She helped me get the medicine I needed and was able to get the Doctors to me that I needed to see. She has great charisma but isn't afraid to put her foot down when necessary. It's her dedication that distinguishes her. I consider myself very fortunate to have been assigned Roberta as my nurse. I received excellent physical care, but more importantly, the emotional support. By the time the shift ended my perspective had changed 180 degrees.
