You don't need a specific story to know that Barb is truly an exceptional nurse who is constantly going above and beyond. Barb always takes time with her patients, straightens their rooms, serves them with joy and a servant's heart. She is never complaining and patients always say how much they love her.
One example of Barb being exceptional is from one night when she had a rather "difficult" patient. Barb did not treat this patient any differently and when they asked for a back massage Barb didn't skip a beat and made her patient more comfortable, even though they weren't very kind. Barb treats all patients, staff, and co-workers with the utmost respect! She remembers everyone's name (phlebs, aides, nurses and EVS workers). They all light up when she greets them. Barb carries joy wherever she goes and she definitely is not recognized and appreciated for the exceptional and compassionate nurse that she is. As a nurse myself, I aspire to be a nurse like Barb. She is extraordinary!!
