I was a patient at McHenry a few months ago. Recently I was cleaning off my desk and found this DAISY form. Immediately, I remembered a nurse who made the biggest difference to me, Dawn. I needed to have some testing done on the treadmill and CT scan. I have severe anxiety and phobias so the thought of the CT scan was very overwhelming. Dawn let me know what was happening with the tests but didn't go overboard with information. She provided enough to make sure I understood what was going on. She talked to me through the processes, was there for me, didn't judge me or roll her eyes, (that's happened before). If it wasn't for Dawn coming from the treadmill area that day, I don't think I would have completed the test to get the information I needed about my heart.
