I had open heart surgery in January of this year. I was very scared because the doctor told me that there was a lot of damage to my heart from my past heart attack.
The doctor wanted me to have the surgery around Christmas time, but I asked to put it off because I wanted to spend Christmas with my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I was worried if something happened to me they would think about it every Christmas and I didn't want that, so I postponed it until early January.
After my procedure, I feel God sent a guardian angel to care for me and his name is Enrique Mendoza. Enrique has such a peaceful demeanor, soft voice and explained everything he was doing so I would understand what was happening to me.
Enrique is patient, kind and when my family members left for the night, they knew I was in good hands and so did I. He was very thorough when checking all the tubes and monitors; always asking if I needed anything before he left my room.
You can definitely tell, Enrique wants to help people. He has a servant's heart and a compassionate spirit.
I was able to heal quickly because I wasn't stressed or nervous knowing Enrique would be there to care for me. I even changed the name of my bear (Sir Coughs Alot) to Enrique.
