My 39-year-old husband had a heart attack Christmas Eve and was admitted to CCU. We were blessed to have Kristie assigned to his care for 3 days! My husband found out, after a heart cath, that he would need a triple bypass. When he returned to CCU, he was still intubated and that freaked him out.
Once extubated, Kristie helped me calm him down which proved to help his respiratory rate. She was very compassionate, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond in the care that she provided my husband. As his wife, she made sure I was ok also! She had a listening ear, answers to my numerous questions, and a calming vibe. I don't know St. Joseph's mission statement, but if it were molded around her, patients would receive superior care at every encounter.
