I would like to recognize Fang Hu for her outstanding response to a patient in need while she was arriving to work in the Humboldt garage. Fang and a respiratory therapist were approached by a family member who was holding someone who was not breathing. Fang and the RT responded quickly and initiated CPR. Their communication and teamwork in a difficult environment were exceptional. Fang secured a safe environment and performed CPR until a code team arrived, and they were able to get the patient to the ED and from there to ICU. The great teamwork and critical thinking exemplified the mission and values of SJH as they cared for this vulnerable patient and their family.
