In July 2019, my wife and I welcomed our first child into this world. Advocate Lutheran General Hospital was the site of her birth. I wanted to write to you to recognize a few individuals who made what was supposed to be an extremely nerve-racking experience for us nothing but a safe, happy, informative and caring one. I also want to thank you for educating and creating an environment for your staff that allows them to create this caring and nurturing environment for their patients. In every stage of our hospital stay my wife and I were made to feel welcomed and stress-free.
Starting at the labor and delivery department. Our Nurse Niki was the nicest and most attentive nurse I have ever come across. As someone who comes from a family of healthcare professionals (mom being an RN and dad a doctor), I have had my fair share of encounters with them. Niki went above and beyond to make sure that my wife was comfortable not only physically but more important, mentally. Checking up on us every 5 minutes and asking if we needed anything was a normal routine for her. On one occasion when my wife was having the epidural administered, Niki stuck by my wife's side, rubbing her legs all while trying to take her focus off the procedure. She is an extremely bright young lady who blessed us with her presence.
We are grateful for the service we received from not only this woman but everyone within Advocate.
